Managing Director Kay Howe has over 30 years’ experience in the New Zealand rental vehicle and travel industry and is fully involved in the day to day running of the company. And there isn’t a person working at United who doesn’t share a passion for New Zealand and a commitment to the United philosophy of excellence.

 | The environmental practices of United Vehicle Rentals have been recognised by EarthCheck http://www.earthcheck.org the internationally recognised global Environmental Management Programme desgined speciifically for the travel and tourism industry. In October 2004 United became the first rental vehicle operator in the world to achieve EarthCheck Benchmarked Certification standard. Our commitment to the EarthCheck programme is ongoing, and since our world first in achieving EarthCheck Benchmarked status we have achieved the prestigious EarthCheck Gold certification in 2011. Motuora Island Reforestation project:
 | We see it as our responsibility to minimise the impact our business and vehicles have on New Zealand's environment, and to encourage our clients likewise. To this end, since 2006 United has been involved in the Motuora Island Reforestation Project in Auckland’s beautiful Hauraki Gulf, by sponsoring the annual planting of up to 30,000 native trees on the island. Motuora Iserves not only as a sanctuary for endangered birds, reptiles and insects, but also as a nursery where Kiwi chicks can safely grow to maturity before release back into their original habitat on the main land. Through this support, and other initiatives, we acknowledge our environmental responsibility and take a giant step towards offsetting the negative impact of emissions from a fleet in excess of over 600 vehicles. As a hirer of a United vehicle you'll immediately contribute to a better environment - we currently plant 6 trees for every vehicle hire.
